9fin × viaNexus | Thursday 16 July 2026 | The Ned, London
AI adoption in debt capital markets has accelerated sharply over the past year. Major law firms, banks, and asset managers are now committing significant resources, whether building proprietary platforms, partnering with AI providers, or both.
Yet for most firms, the practical challenges remain substantial. Credit markets run on unstructured, often non-public data, and making AI work reliably across it requires infrastructure that few firms have in place. Technology leaders responsible for closing that gap have very few places to compare notes with peers in the same asset class.
This half-day event at The Ned, co-hosted by 9fin and viaNexus, brings together eighty technologists, data architects, engineering and AI strategy leads from major debt capital markets firms. 9fin builds the capital markets AI, data, and API platform used by the institutions shaping credit and fixed income markets. viaNexus is a next-generation financial data marketplace built for APIs and agentic AI workflows.
Over four focused talks, joint Q&As, and moderated roundtable discussions, we’ll look at the evolving data layer that underpins credit AI, and the practical building blocks firms need to make it work.
Attendance is by invitation only. Email events@9fin.com to request a space.

08:30 — 09:30am: Breakfast & Networking
Strong coffee, good food, and an hour to meet the room before we start.
09:30 — 10:25am: The Data Layer
Where market data is going and how firms turn it into edge. Two talks followed by a joint on-stage Q&A.
- Tim Baker (CEO, viaNexus) — What firms need to think about as agents and automated workflows become the primary consumers of market data; how delivery, entitlement, and pricing models need to change to support that.
- Huss El-Sheikh (CTO, 9fin) — How firms can combine their own proprietary data with a market-wide view to get more from their AI infrastructure, what that requires at the data layer, and how data licensing is evolving as consumption shifts from named users and terminals to APIs and models.
10:25am — 10:45am: Coffee Break
10:45am — 11:35am: The Building Blocks
Ground-level, technical advice for the people doing the work. Two talks followed by a joint on-stage Q&A.
- Mingtian Zhang (CEO, PageIndex) — A different approach to document understanding: semantic indexing of a document's own structure instead of chunk-and-vectorize RAG. Purpose-built for financial documents, open source at the core.
- Jeremy Posner (Informium) — AI has finally put real budget behind data modelling, ontology, and architecture. A vendor-neutral view of how leading firms are applying these practices for better results.
11:35pm — 12:30pm: Roundtable Discussions
- Where is your AI transformation roadmap actually stuck?
- Agent-ready data: what do you need from vendors that you're not getting?
- Build vs Buy: Is this the moment with open source and empowered internal teams to deliver?
- Knowledge graphs, ontologies, taxonomies: hype, foundation, or both?
12:30pm — 13:30pm: Close & Light Bites
Final thoughts, followed by light bites and networking.
