Pantheon is in talks to lead the investment into Bridgepoint Credit’s potential new continuation vehicle, according to 9fin sources.
Discussions around the possible investment are ongoing and nothing is confirmed or finalised yet, the sources added.
Evercore is advising on the process, and the continuation vehicle (CV) is expected to hold more than 20 assets, 9fin reported in April.
The deal would add to Pantheon’s CV exposure, after it led a $3.2bn CV for Crescent Capital Group in January.
Bridgepoint has been building out its own secondaries capability in parallel, adding a team from middle-market secondaries firm Newbury in December 2025.
Carlyle estimates that the credit secondaries market was worth more than $20bn in 2025, and expects it to grow to over $80bn by 2030. According to Generali’s Marco Busca, the sector is maturing rapidly as investors seek diversification in more challenging markets.
Ares is also moving into private credit CVs, but was forced to reduce the transaction perimeter for one of its funds by roughly half, after potential investors in the fund pushed back on pricing expectations, 9fin reported.
Bridgepoint and Pantheon declined to comment.
