After leading JPMorgan's Digital Investment Bank, Huw will partner with the world's largest financial institutions to realize AI's potential in debt markets, anchored in 9fin's proprietary data.
I'm thrilled to announce that Huw Richards is joining 9fin as Head of Customer Partnerships, based in our New York office.
This newly created role reflects the evolving needs of our customers as they take on their own AI transformation. Huw will partner with them on that journey, bringing together his experience leading digital transformation inside one of the world's largest investment banks with his own deep expertise in debt markets.
Huw spent 23 years at JPMorgan where he led several debt financing businesses globally. He then led the strategy and execution of creating the Digital Investment Bank, the unit charged with embedding technology and data in the firm's investment banking business.
He understands both sides of this challenge. He knows the realities of banking from the inside, and he's already led many of the same transformation efforts our customers are now undertaking. Very few people understand how the largest institutions really buy, build and adopt new technology as well as he does.
"In over 30 years in debt capital markets, I've not seen a moment as pivotal as this one for unlocking data-led insight. Practitioners are increasingly realizing what we've long advocated: AI's potential is only fully unlocked when it's grounded in trusted, proprietary data. 9fin has both. The opportunity now is to connect that data directly to the AI-driven workflows of the world's largest institutions. 9fin is built to lead this next era of AI in debt." Huw Richards, Head of Customer Partnerships, 9fin
For almost a decade, 9fin has earned the trust of thousands of credit professionals by helping them understand debt markets faster and with greater confidence. More than 350 of the world's leading banks, asset managers, law firms and advisers rely on our platform every day for the quality of our reporting, analysis and proprietary data.
As AI becomes part of the way financial institutions work, our role is evolving alongside our customers. Increasingly, that means meeting customers where they work: inside the 9fin platform, in their own systems via API and MCP, and through a growing set of 9fin agents built on our data that firms can use directly or connect their own agents to.
That's where Huw comes in.
Having led this kind of change from the inside, Huw is uniquely positioned to partner with clients on their AI objectives: understanding what they're trying to build, where 9fin fits, and doing the work to get it embedded into how they operate.
